Resume

RAISE and MAMAH have together over the last eight years worked to introduce edible insects in Western Uganda, as a means of improving income generation, livelihoods, nutrition and health among refugees and host communities. Throughout this period, interest in insect production among NGOs and international organisations working in the region has increased significantly. The project will contribute to this work by enabling the production of quality reports that disseminate lessons learned from the last eight years, and organising a conference bringing together community-based organisations, national and international NGOs, government staff, UN organisations and researchers from the East African region in Kampala to exchange experiences and shape the future development of the insect production sector in the region.
