Resume

In Whose Interest? is an urgent advocacy initiative exposing the institutionalisation of over 9,000 children with disabilities through Nepal’s Resource Class system, in violation of national law and international human rights standards. Through a participatory documentary, it reveals harms, amplifies families’ voices, and exposes the political economy sustaining the system. At a decisive political moment, the film seeks to mobilise public support to stop an amendment to the Disability Act that would expand institutionalisation and instead advance a rights based National Care Reform and Deinstitutionalisation Strategy. In partnership with The Inclusive Network, it will strengthen civil society advocacy through nationwide screenings, digital mobilisation, and policy engagement to redirect resources toward community based services so all children can grow up with their families. The film will also support popular engagement in Denmark.
