Resume

This six-month project expands and empowers a cross-regional network of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in regional Armenia (Shirak, Lori, and three additional provinces). Through five localized needs assessments, resources mappings and capacity-building workshops, Pink Armenia will assess the specific safety, legal, and psychological needs of regional queer communities, map local resources available and equip regional participants with the collective knowledge to protect and respect human rights when dealing with repression. The project focuses on LGBTQ+ community capacity-building beyond the capital Yerevan, strengthening and expanding grassroots leadership while generating local data for peer-solidarity and local self-support. The purpose is a regional LGBTQ+ community in Armenia that is better connected, empowered, and able to respond collectively to repression based on knowledge about local needs and available resources.
