Overall targets

There is reduced HIV prevalence among MSM in Malawi who have free and equal access to public health services and live lives free from stigma and discrimination.

Immediate targets

Immediate objective 1: By July 2018, 3000 MSM in five districts have increased use of safe sex practices and increased health seeking behavior Immediate objective 2: By July 2018, 100 health service providers at public health institutions in five districts are providing stigma-free and non-discriminatory HIV-related health services for MSM Immediate objective 3: By July 2018, 50 religious and 50 traditional leaders in five districts are contributing to reduced stigma and discrimination of MSM

Resume

Projektet vil sænke hiv-prævalensen blandt mænd, der har sex med mænd (MSM), i Malawi. Gennem ‘peer education’ vil projektet nå 3000 MSM med information om sikker sex og vigtigheden af at blive testet og eventuelt komme i behandling for hiv. Projektet vil træne 100 offentlige sundhedsansatte i MSM-venlig behandling og skabe et system, så MSM’erne kan blive direkte henvist til en sundhedsansat, som de kan være tryg ved. Projektet vil desuden bekæmpe stigma og diskriminaton I samfundet ved at træne religiøse og traditionelle ledere og ændre deres holdninger til MSM og LGBT-personer generelt.
