Girls Economic Restoration and Development for Sustainability (GERDS), is a compassionate initiative to empower and uplift the lives of 48 school dropout girls and teenage mothers in Uganda. The project aims to foster economic empowerment, community development and social inclusion. The main activities of this intervention include: 1) Vocational Training of girls, customizing skills programs that suit the needs of school dropout girls, offering specialized vocational training in areas of handcrafts and business management skills. 2) Community Engagement and Awareness, through campaigns on the importance of supporting school dropout girls and teenage mothers, collaborating with local leaders and community influencers and utilization of local media channels to reach a wider audience.
