Women Fund Sukhumi

Women Fund Sukhumi (WFS) is a non-governmental organisation based in Kutaisi, Georgia, established in 1997. It is dedicated to advancing women’s rights, peacebuilding, and promoting gender equality, with a particular focus on female internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Over the past 27 years, WFS has grown into one of the most active and respected women’s organisations in Western Georgia, working at the intersection of legal support, advocacy, education, and service provision to create sustainable change in local communities. Vision: A Georgian society that lives in peace and gender equality, ensuring women’s full participation in all aspects of life—civil, political, economic, social, and cultural. Mission: To promote gender equality, women’s rights, and peace in Georgia by strengthening intersectoral cooperation and empowering women as agents of change. Strategic priorities are: • Women’s participation in peace-building • Women against gender based and domestic violence • Mainstreaming Gender Equality in local and national policies • Youth activism and empowerment • Work with Ukrainian refugees
