Fundación TEJ is a non-profit organization founded in 2024 by activists from the environmental and energy democracy movement, community leaders with on-the-ground experience, and researchers working on the just energy transition. We are distinguished by our active collaboration with communities to ensure technical efficiency and social and environmental sustainability. Our mission is to promote a sustainable energy model through the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Our objectives: • To contribute to the promotion, development, and acceleration of a just energy transition. • To contribute to accelerating the shift towards a sustainable energy model through the development of energy communities. • To consolidate the theoretical and practical conception of a just energy transition and advocate for its principles. Participatory and Community Focus: We foster inclusive dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration with Indigenous, peasant, and marginalized urban communities to develop solutions that are culturally relevant, turning communities into active agents of their own energy transformation. Our activities: • We support the design, structuring, and execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring their alignment with the SDGs and national regulations. • Socio-environmental assessment and technical feasibility studies for energy projects. • Development of strategies for community participation and advocacy. • Sustainable financing models and access to cooperation funds. Fundación TEJ is since 2024 leading the Sustainable River Mobility project in the Amazon, piloting two energy community initiatives to replace diesel boats with solar-charged electric transport. Fishing communities are central, co-developing financial models and gaining training in operation, governance, and technology care. A Just Energy Transition School engages local groups, building economic resilience and reducing emissions.
