Dunia Ya Watoto

Dunia Ya Watoto was founded in January 2024. It opened in the local area of Buhongwa on the outskirts of Mwanza city in Tanzania. The organization was founded with the purpose of creating a community for children for creativity, curiosity and active learning by facilitating activities in music, art, sports, games, and language. The objectives are: 1. Advancement of mentoring, education and sensitization of children and youth. 2. Enhancing improved livelihood of children and youth. 3. Promoting inclusive education and accessibility of education to children and youth. Dunia Ya Watoto means World of Children, which reflects that children are the future of our world. The organization is founded by 5 Tanzanian board members, who have experiences as teachers, in NGOs, musicians, business and health care - common for all is the passion for children's well-being. When the organization opened in 2024, many children participated in the activities from day one. The organization was struggling to get funding and was run by voluntary work. Already from the beginning Dunia Ya Watoto was partner organization with the Danish association Dunia Ya Watoto, that supported the minimum of activities. When the organization received more funds it was possible to employ staff members, which took the organization to another level. After almost two active years Dunia Ya Watoto is well integrated in the local community and has progressed a lot since the beginning of the organization.
