BAMBOOS Cambodia is a locally registered non-profit organisation established in Cambodia in early 2026. It builds on more than ten years of operational experience from Kamboo Project, whose Cambodian activities, team and project portfolio have been taken over and are now continued under BAMBOOS Cambodia. The organisation therefore combines a new organisational structure with substantial existing experience, local relationships and implementation capacity. The team has worked with the same rural schools, communities and types of projects that BAMBOOS Cambodia is now continuing and further developing. Today, BAMBOOS Cambodia has 10 employees with approximately 40 years of combined relevant NGO-experience. Through the work originating from Kamboo Project, the organisation and its team have implemented more than 200 projects, supported approximately 40 schools in Siem Reap Province and helped around 10,000 children. BAMBOOS Cambodia works primarily with under-resourced public schools and rural communities, with a strong focus on school construction and renovation and improving the quality of education. We create safe and effective learning environments by building and upgrading classrooms and school facilities, while strengthening education through teacher development, English and computer classes and additional learning opportunities. These core activities are complemented by targeted initiatives that remove barriers to education and help children stay in school and reach their full potential Projects are planned and implemented locally in close cooperation with schools, teachers, communities and relevant education authorities. The approach builds on help for self-help, local ownership and strengthening existing structures and capacities to create sustainable, long-term improvements in children's access to quality education and future opportunities.
