It was founded in Ukraine by Oksana Hankevich, a war widow who lost her husband on the frontline. From her personal journey through grief and healing, she created a support network for other women who have lost loved ones due to the war or are still waiting for those missing or held in captivity. Purpose: the foundation’s core mission is to support Ukrainian women affected by war-related loss, grief, and trauma. It provides a space for healing, connection, and empowerment, grounded in empathy, community, and resilience. Primary Activities: - Organizing healing retreats for widows, mothers, and sisters of fallen or missing Ukrainian soldiers - Offering group therapy, trauma-informed workshops, and peer support circles - Promoting social reintegration, emotional well-being, and self-expression through art and creative practices - Building a long-term community of mutual support among women affected by war The project has supported more than 150 women across Ukraine and has become a trusted model of grassroots, trauma-sensitive care that transforms pain into solidarity and action.
