From Heart to Hand Ghana

The main purpuse of the organisation is to support and encourage needy families, so they can reach a better living condition, with better future opportunities for their children. The organization was started by Liane Janne Løth (Dane) And Benson Kofi Appiah (Ghanaian), after they had worked several years in local children´s homes in Ghana. The main reason for establishing the organization, was to avoid children in need ending up in children´s homes, and instead support the families and create opportunities for the children to stay with their relatives. This became a collaboration with the Social Welfare, who at that time had decided not to open any more Children´s homes in Ghana, because of many cases of child abuse, child trafficking and poor care in the homes. We started to look into the best possible way to support needy families, with both social and financial support. In 2014 we opened our own Help-Center in the township of Pramso, Kumasi. At the Center we offer short term rehabilitation programs for sick or malnourished kids and their parents, or homeless/abandant young mothers and their kids. We do also support families, living in their own homes. We visit the families regularly, create good relations, listen to their issues, and educated the families on hygiene, health, business/budget making, and importance of education for the kids. We also support the families finacially if needed for the kids to go to school og for medical bills. Our Help-Center is also always open for these families, and they come there to socialise, discuss personal problems with our staff, or just feel relaxed and safe. We provide help for families in need with the goal to create Empowerment and Self-help, so the families can live good and independent lifes. Our registration in Ghana: 1. To help children in need to receive good education. 2. To provide skill training programs for parents and youth in need. 3. To improve the living standard of parents and children in need.
