Universidad Anáhuac México is a private Catholic university founded in 1964. Its purpose is to advance higher education, research and social responsibility through an integrated approach to professional training, ethical judgement and service to society. Its primary activities include undergraduate and postgraduate education, scientific research, continuing education, community engagement and international academic cooperation. The collaboration with Spiralweb Stewardship Association is anchored in the Centro de Investigaciones Globales Anáhuac (CIGA), within the Faculty of Global Studies. CIGA conducts multidisciplinary research on global governance, international relations and contemporary social challenges, connecting academic inquiry with public dialogue and national and international research networks. Dr Jesús Arturo Flores López coordinates CIGA and the Estudios sobre democracia research group. The group's interests include democracy, governance, sustainability, social justice and political economy. In the joint OpEn project, Stewardship Economy, Anáhuac contributes academic knowledge, critical review and connections to Mexican research and practice. The collaboration supports the development of an openly accessible educational publication that connects experiences from Xochimilco with questions about livelihoods, ecological care and democratic responsibility for audiences in Denmark.
