LM International Sudan

LM International work started in Sudan more than 30 years ago, in 1989, under the name “International Aid Services.” The initial projects served the displaced people in Central and Western Equatoria (now in South Sudan) during the civil war, at a time when very few international agencies were providing life-saving support in these areas. After years of working in the south of the country, the programme expanded to Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan in 2002, which paved way for the formal country registration in 2003. In 2004 expanded into Darfur, in 2009 to Red Sea State, in 2021 to Blue Nile State and in 2022 expended to both North and West Kordofan. During these years we have gained extensive experience across most regions of Sudan, with particular focus in those areas where drinking water coverage remains low, and populations suffer from food insecurity and malnutrition. Key areas of programming focus: WASH/ IWRM, Education: Inclusive Education (IE) and Education in Emergencies (EiE), Livelihood: Food, Security and Livelihood (FSL) Gender mainstreaming, Peace building, Protection, Climate Change mitigation.
