SEND Sierra Leone (SEND SL) commenced its operations in Kailahun District in 2008, with a focus on promoting good governance and inclusive leadership. Officially registered in 2008, the organization has evolved into a national non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to enhancing the lives of Sierra Leoneans across key development sectors. Guided by the vision of a Sierra Leone where the lives of all individuals are guaranteed, SEND SL has expanded its programs to include Education, Health, Livelihood, Climate Change, and Governance. Currently operating in 15 out of 16 districts, SEND SL is committed to advancing human rights, gender equality, and inclusive development. Its governance work includes civic education, leadership training, social accountability, and promoting women's and youth participation in decision-making. In education, SEND supports school infrastructure, teacher training, and accelerated learning programs for out-of-school children. Health programs focus on community health systems, maternal and child health, and support to Primary Healthcare Units (PHUs). SEND SL’s livelihood interventions empower smallholder farmers, women entrepreneurs, and youth through skills training, access to finance, and market development. Climate change programs aim to build community resilience through sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and disaster preparedness. SEND SL works in partnership with government institutions, international donors, civil society, and communities, using a rights-based and participatory approach. Its mission is to promote sustainable development, equity, and social justice, ensuring that no one is left behind.
