Strengthening Psychosocial Resilience among War-Affected Children and Youth, in Southern Ukraine

The Ukrainian Peacebuilding School (UPS) was officially registered in August 2021 as the institutionalization of a project active since 2014. It is governed by a board of seven members (delegated territorially), a supervisory board of three, and an executive director. Today, UPS is a network of over 80 members across 12 regions of Ukraine. Strategy 2024–2026 UPS responds to the immense social challenges created by simultaneous societal shifts and the war. Russian aggression has intensified pressures on communities and individuals, highlighting the urgent need for psychological support and peacebuilding practices. Vision Ukraine as a modernized, successful country where violent conflict is impossible; every person feels secure; the state recognizes and addresses diverse group needs; and non-violent communication prevails in society and governance. Mission To transform and strengthen communities by promoting peacebuilding practices, advocacy, networking, and exchange of experience. Values Dignity: Respect for equality, individuality, and fairness. Patriotism: Active devotion to people, homeland, and state, fostering unity and purpose. Safety: Promoting awareness, preparedness, and resilience in dangerous situations. Trust & Integrity: Upholding ethical standards, transparency, respect, and consensus-building. Responsibility: Ensuring organizational sustainability, growth, and accountability. Results-oriented: Achieving goals collectively despite pressure and challenges. Work Sectors & Priorities UPS strives to be a leader and reliable partner in peacebuilding across Ukraine, turning conflict into opportunities for community growth.
