From Heart to Heart Ghana

Liane Janne Løth came to Ghana in 2006, to do Volunteer work. She spend a few years working i different Children Homes, and in 2008 she was part of founding From Heart to Hand Denmark, with the goal to help needy children in Ghana. From Heart to Hand posted Liane Janne Løth in different local Children Homes, to ensure that the support would go directly to the children in need (2008-2010). In 2010 From Heart to Hand created and registered a partner Organisation in Ghana (From Heart to Hand Ghana), to be able to work for the main aim: To help families and children in need. We had experienced, that the best sulution for poor and traumaticed children was not to grow up in a Children Home. We therefore dicided to help the kids in their private homes, by supporting their guardians, both socially and financially. From Heart to Hand Danmark founded money, to build our own "Help-Center" for families in need. The Center i placed just out of Kumasi, the second larges city in Ghana. The Center is calm and peaceful, and gives the families an oppertunity for a free-space, where they can get the support they need. The Center staff and volunteers always have time to talk, give advise, and help if needed. We have 10 beds at the Center, which can be used as a shelter, for sick and homeless families. The staff supervises the families we support in their own homes. They make sure that everyone i healthy, that the children goes to school, and that the guardians work/follow a learning program. The staff have a high focus on relation-work, to be able to gain trust in the homes. Our health staff assists sick children or parents to the hospital, and educated them about health, hygiene and Family Planning. Our educational staff visits the childrens schools, helps to pay fees, and communicated with the school staff about the childrens preformance and welfare.
