UHAAJ (Jarar Students and Scholars Development Organization)

UHAAJ (Jarar Scholars and Students Organization) is a local civil society organization founded in 2019 in Degahbur, the capital city of Jarar Zone. UHAAJ is composed of students and academics who work together to promote education and community development in the Somali region of Ethiopia. In recent years, UHAAJ has expanded its activities and currently engages more than 700 young people through programs in information technology, languages, and tutorial classes. The organization has made significant achievements in strengthening educational quality, improving students’ skills, and raising community awareness. In 2024 alone, 56 students graduated from UHAAJ’s IT program, equipping them with skills that enable them to contribute to the country’s development. The organization also runs additional programs and maintains a public library, which serves as a learning hub for the local community.
