The crisis is a rapid onset natural disaster caused by heavy rainfall leading to destructive flash floods. The floods have resulted in loss of life, destruction of infrastructure, and severe damage to homes, agricultural land, and livelihoods. Occurring within an already fragile humanitarian context, the floods have significantly exacerbated existing vulnerabilities, including food insecurity and poverty. Vulnerable groups such as women, children, elderly people, and displaced populations are disproportionately affected.
