Livaningo

Livaningo is a non-profit organization based in Maputo, with regional offices across Mozambique, dedicated to social and environmental justice and community welfare. Established in 1998 with Danish support by individuals, journalists, and academics, Livaningo initially focused on protecting public health from toxic waste incineration. Over 27 years, Livaningo has implemented diverse activities in urban governance, natural resources, extractive industries, climate change, renewable energy, gender, litigation, and humanitarian assistance. The organization emphasizes livelihood recovery and resilience for marginalized groups, including women, youth, and people with disabilities in both rural and urban areas. Having successfully completed over 45 major projects, benefiting 92,354 people, Livaningo possesses extensive experience in advocacy, development, and emergency relief. Its approaches have significantly contributed to food security, nutrition, and household resilience by promoting various on-farming and off-farming practices, boosting living conditions for thousands.
