Resume

The intervention will deliver emergency cash assistance to newly displaced households affected by cross-border hostilities along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border, prioritising highly vulnerable groups including women-headed households, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, and households without income. Beneficiaries will be identified through SUAO’s field assessment and verified against humanitarian data. The intervention will be implemented in Ali Sher, Zazi Maidan, and Gurbuz districts of Khost Province, where displacement and unmet needs are most severe. A total of 350 households will receive cash assistance equivalent to the WFP food basket (AFN 6,160 per month) for two months to meet immediate food needs, prevent negative coping strategies, and stabilise conditions during the acute phase of displacement. Cash assistance will be delivered rapidly following DERF approval and fund transfer, prioritising newly displaced households at the most critical stage of displacement.
