Resume

Family separation and institutionalisation cause lifelong harm. Nepal has committed, through the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 2019 UN Resolution, to ensure every child grows up in a family and community and that young people are heard. This project holds those commitments to account by strengthening Care Leavers to speak out, many of whom were unjustly placed in institutions and now face extreme risks of poverty, exploitation, and exclusion. A Care Leavers Hub will provide services, resilience building, and youth led advocacy. Working with 20 community organisations through The Inclusive Network, Care Leavers will build the collective power needed to engage in pushing for government action and a national Childcare Reform and Deinstitutionalisation Strategy.
