Resume

The project supports indigenous communities in Tanzania by strengthening the organizational capacity of Olkiloriti Masai Aid, a community-based organization, and empowering three women groups in remote, under-served Masai villages to develop leadership skills and increase their income. The project builds on Olkiloriti Masai Aid’s foundation in the community by further enhancing its governance structures and operational capacity. Olkiloriti Masai Aid works in the districts of Kiteto and Kilindi in Tanzania’s inner plains. The organization plays a role in mobilizing and supporting communities and representing them at the local government level. With increased organizational capacity and support from the project, Olkiloriti Masai Aid empowers 100 extremely poor Masai women in three groups in three adjacent villages. The women groups are trained on leadership, rights, and business skills and supported to establish saving groups and revolving schemes.
