Resume

Violence against women is widespread in Armenia, where one in four women experience intimate partner violence. Gender inequality, limited awareness of rights, and financial dependence prevent many women from escaping abuse. To address this, Democracy Today and Armenian Progressive Youth partner with Danner (Denmark) to support women survivors and those at risk. The project aims to reduce violence by strengthening women’s resilience and economic independence, while engaging community capacity in preventing violence and support victims. Women participate in trauma-informed economic empowerment activities and resilience forums, local communities are mobilised in the fight against VAW, and partner staff and volunteers receive training to provide qualified, trauma-sensitive support, all leading to reducing the risk of violence against women in Armenia.
