Resume

The Emergency Response to Flood-Affected Populations in Faryab Province provides life‑saving shelter and WASH assistance to communities in Kohistan and Gurziwan districts, where recent floods have destroyed homes, farmland, and basic services, increasing health and protection risks. The intervention will support 145 vulnerable households with cash‑based assistance for shelter repairs, enabling rapid restoration of safe and dignified living conditions, and provide 160 households with hygiene kits and hygiene promotion to reduce waterborne disease risks. Implemented over four months in 2026 by ORD, a nationally rooted organization with a strong presence in Faryab, the action prioritizes women‑headed households, children, persons with disabilities, and elderly people. Protection mainstreaming, gender sensitivity, accountability to affected populations (AAP), safeguarding and PSEA are integrated throughout, coordinated with authorities and Shelter/NFI and WASH clusters.
