Resume

Nafsi Studio will strengthen youth-led democratic participation, social cohesion and peaceful political engagement in Kenya ahead of the 2027 general elections. Building on lessons from the 2024 Gen Z-led protests where young people faced killings, abductions and intimidation; the project will establish a safe studio-based and online platform where Kenyan youth can express political views, engage in informed debate and hold leaders accountable without inciting violence. Through moderated talk shows, fact-checking segments, civic education content and storytelling on positive change initiatives, Nafsi Studio will counter misinformation, promote issue-based politics and encourage peaceful coexistence. The project builds on former experiences from media training (Tangaza) and the studio operators were trained in Tangaza. It engages young people as content creators and at the same time develops, tests, describes and distributes methodologies for safe digital communication.
