Resume

HDF, in partnership with DM-Aid, will promote locally led climate adaptation in one climate-vulnerable Union Council (UC) of Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The project will support communities and relevant authorities to assess climate risks and vulnerabilities and develop, cost and endorse a participatory Local Adaptation Plan of Action (LAPA) aligned with Pakistan’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP). It will then establish three Climate Adaptation Forums (CAFs) to represent community priorities and strengthen the capacity of CAFs, relevant Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and district departments. CAF and CSO representatives will use evidence from the LAPA to build district-level support and advocate for selected priorities to be integrated into AJK’s Annual Development Programme (ADP). Together, these efforts will strengthen inclusive adaptation planning, community participation and evidence-based climate advocacy.
