Resume

The affected families will be supported by cash for food. This will support them in the process of rebuilding their houses to regain shelter and living space, thus prevent major migration. The emergency aid will support the families until they will be able to rebuild their farms with livestock and land. The aid will make it possible to survive the immediate threats to health and wellbeing. We are choosing to hand out cash, because we want to empower the individual family to make decisions concerning own life and preferences. Our experiences from two different distribution projects have taught us it can be difficult to meet the target group’s needs, when you deliver standard packages. Money distribution can be executed faster. You do not need the long process of tendering, purchasing, packing, and transporting; hence the aid can reach the needy faster. We will distribute cash to families, focusing on pregnant and breast-feeding females, disabled persons, children, and elderlies.
