Our intervention in Burundi aims to alleviate immediate suffering caused by floods and landslides. We provide food and water, essential shelter, medical care, and non-food items to affected families, restoring their sense of security. Cash transfers are used to support food needs for a month, fighting malnutrition, especially among children and pregnant/lactating women. Non-food aid helps households recover lost items, including tents crucial for shelter. Blankets and mosquito nets prevent malaria. These affected people also expressed a high need for blankets and mosquito nets as they sleep outside and this will be provided. With $100,000, 498 families will be assisted in Rumonge Province, aiming to support all 6,884 affected families long term. In the intervention we coordinate with other humanitarian partners and participate in coordination mechanisms.
