The BCRC project advocates, supports, and promotes climate adaptation practices and measures in selected vulnerable communities, and gradually involves them in local planning and policy processes. Climate change is causing water sources to dry up, land degradation, reduced crop yields, and increased forest fires. BCRC builds on Climate Vulnerability Capacity Analyses (CVCA) and ASK’s experience in sustainable agriculture. It is designed to adapt to climate change, inspired by Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) as an integrated approach using a combination of technologies and practices to meet food security goals while adapting to, and mitigating climate change, including the Climate Smart Village policy adopted by the Nepal Government. BCRC is organized into two outcomes: 1) increased community resilience and sustainable farming, and 2) advocacy and outreach.
