Resume

The crisis in northern Mozambique has evolved into one of the most complex humanitarian situations in the region. During 2025, the violence has sharply accelerated. By the end of August, over 500 security incidents affecting civilians had been recorded, including raids on villages, abductions, killings of civilians, looting, and the destruction of homes and infrastructure. As of 31 August, 111,000 had been displaced across the three northern provinces, the far majority, 109,00 in Cabo Delgado. To respond to this humanitarian crisis Livaningo and SustainableEnergy propose this intervention to provide immediate and lifesaving relief to 500 vulnerable displaced and returnee households in Chiure District, in Cabo Delgado. The direct target group will be supported with food and nutrition. This will alleviate food insecurity and prevent acute malnutrition particularly among children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with disabilities, and the elderly.
