Resume

The project will empower women in female-headed households in the Ejisu Municipality (EM) of Ghana, and strengthen their capacity to access their rights and social services as well as participate in democratic and governance processes. These women face barriers including weak participation in community decision-making, limited access to productive resources, inadequate entrepreneurial skills, and restricted access to financial services. About 330 participants will partake in the project. The project will be undertaken through trainings/capacity building workshops and stakeholders’ fora, employing dialogue, brainstorming, visualisation, group work, sharing of ideas, and participatory training on women's empowerment, income-generating activities, as well as governance & public participation. An estimated 1440 dependents of female-headed (or female-led) households will be immediately affected by the project. A further 180,000+ people in EM will be indirectly affected by the project.
