AKAM is applying under the “Support to the Application Process” modality to strengthen its fundraising capacity through income diversification and to promote youth-led environmental engagement and Indigenous participation in nature protection in the Peruvian Amazon. The support will enable AKAM to develop a joint funding application to Operation Dagsværk together with ACCA and the Indigenous youth organisation OJIMAD in Madre de Dios, Peru. The planned intervention focuses on strengthening Indigenous youth’s role in environmental protection through environmental monitoring, learning activities, communication initiatives, leadership development, and reforestation efforts.The project is rooted in local ownership and led by local actors, with AKAM supporting through fundraising, communication and coordination.The intervention supports sustainability, youth participation, and civil society strengthening while empowering Indigenous youth in environmental protection and community resilience.
