PLAY HANDBALL Kenya is a branch of PLAY HANDBALL and run in partnership with Active Youth Empowerment Projects (AYEP). PLAY HANDBALL started as an South African based organisation in 2013. In 2014, PLAY HANDBALL established an office in Germany and has an affiliated office in Kenya since 2016. PLAY HANDBALL Kenya focuses on developing team handball in schools and communities. Through sport, we drive community development with a strong emphasis on life skills education, behavior change, and environmental conservation among children and youth Our programs integrate handball with social impact, using the game as a tool to equip young people with essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Additionally, we promote environmental awareness by embedding sustainability practices within our sports activities. PLAY HANDBALL Kenya works closely with local schools, community-based organizations, and volunteers to ensure grassroots development of the sport while fostering positive social change. By aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we contribute to creating healthier, more inclusive communities where young people have the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive through handball. Main acivities: 1. Developing Handball Knowledge & Skills: Teaching children and youth fundamental handball skills while promoting teamwork and discipline. 2. Training Community Coaches and Teachers: Providing structured handball coach training to empower local coaches and strengthen grassroots sports development. 3. Integrating Life Skills & Environmental Education: Equipping coaches, children, and youth with essential life skills and environmental awareness to drive positive behavior change and create awareness about climate change. 4. Engaging Skilled Volunteers: Placing volunteers in schools and communities to support the use of handball as a tool for education and development. 5.
