Asset Based Community Development Innovation Center NGO

ABCD Innovation Center is a community-based non-governmental organization founded in 2019 in Yerevan, Armenia. The organization was established to promote Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach by recognizing and mobilizing the existing strengths, skills, resources, and capacities of local communities rather than focusing on their needs and deficiencies. Since its establishment, the organization has expanded its work across Armenia, supporting both rural and urban communities through innovative, participatory, and sustainable development approaches. The primary purpose of ABCD Innovation Center is to empower individuals and communities to become active agents of change, strengthen social cohesion, and create inclusive opportunities for sustainable local development. The organization places particular emphasis on youth empowerment, women's leadership, civic participation, entrepreneurship, education, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. Its work contributes to the achievement of several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). ABCD Innovation Center designs and implements projects in partnership with international organizations, government institutions, local authorities, educational institutions, and civil society organizations. Its core activities include capacity building and training, community-led development initiatives, social innovation, participatory planning, leadership development, vocational education support, rural development, and local grant programmes. Through its work, the organization strengthens local capacities, supports vulnerable and displaced populations, promotes active citizenship, and contributes to more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities.
