AVE Copiii is one of Moldova’s leading NGO dedicated to child protection and social inclusion. AVE Copiii emerged in response to the urgent challenges faced by children left without parental care following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Over the years, AVE Copiii has become a key advocate for children’s rights, collaborating with national and international partners to develop sustainable solutions for vulnerable children. Key Objectives: • Promoting and protecting children’s rights by advocating for improved policies, services, and legal frameworks. • Preventing risk situations that could affect children, families, and communities through support programs and awareness campaigns. • Protecting children and young people who are victims or at risk of violence in all its forms and across all environments. • Building the capacity of professionals working with children by offering specialized training and resources. AVE Copiii has focused on developing support services for young people leaving alternative care, including independent living skills training and capacity building for child protection professionals monitoring children in alternative care. The organization has also established a network of 32 child-friendly spaces, offering daily activities for approximately 750 socially vulnerable children (both girls and boys), helping them develop independent living skills and access non-formal education in a safe and supportive environment. Since 2022, AVE Copiii has been a key child protection actor in Moldova, ensuring the protection and social integration of unaccompanied and separated refugee children from Ukraine through a structured case management framework. Additionally, AVE Copiii is recognized as Moldova’s leading provider of child protection training, offering specialized programs for child protection professionals, police officers, social workers, healthcare providers, and members of local multidisciplinary teams.
