Samridhha Community Development Center (SCDC)

Samridha Commune Development Center Nepal (SCDC) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization founded in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Rupandehi, Lumbini Province. Since its establishment in 2001, it has worked to uplift marginalized communities, beginning with a focus on street children, through education, livelihood promotion, governance strengthening, and environmental sustainability. Recognized by local governments as a credible partner, SCDC has been instrumental in implementing community-focused programs. SCDC has a board of 9 local citizens and the chairperson has long standing experience in the NGO sector, and acts as a strong support to the director and his team, by participating in activities and advising on project decisions, staff hiring etc. SCDC has approximately 80 members, of whom most are younger people of both genders. SCDC is currently focusing its strategy on Quality Education through mobilisation of local stakeholders and Active Citizenship particularly focusing on youth.
