The intervention will enable 650 displaced and host households in Alua (Eráti District, Nampula) to meet their urgent food and hygiene needs during a one-month crisis window, preventing hunger, malnutrition, and water-borne disease. Through short nutrition and hygiene sensitization sessions delivered alongside distributions, families will also gain knowledge on balanced diets, infant feeding, and safe food storage. In the short term, households will restore food consumption, adopt safer hygiene and nutrition practices, and experience improved dignity and stability while local systems and partners mobilize for longer-term recovery. The HOST Project adopts in-kind food assistance as the main modality, complemented by locally procured hygiene kits and integrated nutrition sensitization.
