Resume

Led by Ubumi Zambia, Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace) and Ubumi Denmark, the project strengthens civil society-led learning and advocacy on safeguarding and reintegration through reciprocal exchanges between Rwanda and Zambia. Rwandan CSOs and duty bearers will examine Zambian safe-guarding practice and develop recommendations for juvenile justice reform. Zambian CSOs and duty bearers will learn from Rwanda’s Halfway House and reintegration experience and develop recommendations for post-release support. Participating CSOs will turn the learning into coordinated advocacy posi-tions and engage relevant institutions on follow-up. By strengthening policy dialogue and correctional practice, the project aims to improve the protection, dignity and wellbeing of incarcerated adults and children, including mothers with small children, and reintegration opportunities for formerly incarcerated people.
