One Vision, a consortium partner in the CISU-funded Devolution and Climate Change Adaptation Programme, will lead an intervention in Nyatike to empower youth to become active in climate change adaptation. As the Devolution and Climate Change Adaptation Programme phases out of Migori, this project will reinforce community engagement in climate change adaptation through mobilizing and organising students in environmental clubs across 5 schools. Covering two outcomes, the intervention will empower youth to lead local climate action in their communities and enhance government responsiveness to youth inclusion in climate change adaptation. This creates a community-wide commitment to environmental sustainability in a sub-county deeply affected by deforestation and the impacts of climate change. The intervention is expected to increase the resilience of 450 persons in Nyatike sub-county by directly engaging 150 youth in environmental clubs and 10 teachers in Nyatike.
