The programme is a continuation of RWDS and Danner’s longstanding partnership. Drawing on both partners’ strategies and leaning particularly on RWDS’ strategic priority of improving Palestinian women’s rights, the programme comprehensively strengthens rural communities’ resilience against VAW by 1. Boosting VAW survivors and their children to increase their individual ability to meaningfully participate in their community, 2. Boosting community engagement and involvement in the protection of VAW survivors and attention to the broader mental health status of women, and 3. Strengthening the formal support system for VAW survivors through coordination and comprehensive civil society involvement. Resilient communities will be able to reject VAW and provide a supportive environment for survivors, in turn improving women’s participation and right to a life in safety. It will also result in increased robustness of communities and CSOs in times of crises, which is crucial given the context.
