Resume

The intervention addresses the immediate access to appropriate food upon arrival, at Islam Qala border after forced deportation from Iran (border between Iran and Herat Povince) after enduring long and often traumatic journeys. RRAA’s (Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan) assessment highlights that many returnees, including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, arrive in a state of acute vulnerability, with limited or no access to food, shelter, or basic services.. The humanitarian actors at the border are providing food and other health support., but it is not enough to cover all those forced returnees. Our intervention will provide immediate food support lifesaving and a foundational component of an humanitarian response. Special attention is being paid to vulnerable groups, with adapted rations or delivery methods to ensure access for pregnant and lactating women, and persons with disabilities. The target group consist of 31,000 individuals.
