Resume

IAS'programme is focusing on education for marginalized children whom are facing barriers to learning and access to education. The geographical focus is the East African region, more specific Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, and Sudan. The target group is children with physical and mental disabilities, children from nomadic cultures, and girls. The objective is that children, whom today are excluded from education for social, cultural or physical reasons, are recognized and included in schools and that they will gain access to education on equal terms similar to other children. Through education the children will raise their quality of life and get increased opportunities to develop as human beings. The programme is also targeting parents, teachers, authorities, and other stakeholders to make them accountable towards reaching the above mentioned needs of the children. The programme uses rights based approaches to achieve these results.
