Orangutang Fonden/Save the Orangutan

Orangutang Fonden blev stiftet i 2015 af foreningen Red Orangutangen (stiftet i 2003), som samtidig blev omdannet til en støtteforening til fonden. Støtteforeningen blev nedlagt i 2016, og foreningens aktiviteter overgik til fonden, som fortsat laver oplysnings- og indsamlingsarbejdet under navnet Red Orangutangen/Save the Orangutan. Der er ikke krav om generalforsamling i fondsstrukturen, som istedet er underlagt større offentlig kontrol. Seneste generalforsamling var derfor i foreningen i 2016. Fonden arbejder tæt sammen med tilsvarende organisationer i Sverige og England & Wales under det fælles navn Save the Orangutan. Det danske sekretariat fungerer som sekretariat for alle tre organisationer.
